Great chance for India & Australia to strengthen ties: M&M

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Australia last week on the second leg of this three-nation 10-day tour, aims at a strategic partnership with Australia to promote India's economic goals and security interests, including maritime security. Anand Mahindra, Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra believes this is a great opportunity for India and Australia to strengthen ties. He says, “28 years for a PM not to have come to Australia when the links are so obvious and complimentary so I think there is a great chance here (in Australia) for a completely new orbit to be reached for these relationships.” Speaking on the sidelines of the G-20 summit, Mahindra promotes PM Modi's 'Make in India' campaign saying, “Make in India whether it is done by Australian companies or other companies is of prime interest to Australia because we are a market as potentially large as China for its vast natural resources but we will become major buyers of their natural resources the more people are making in India. Therefore, there is a very strong alignment of objectives between Australia and India here (in Australia). As far as Australian companies are concerned, I think this is a great time for the PM and the biz delegation to showcase what make in India really means.” Read more at: http://www.moneycontrol.com
